These are great to help socialize scaredy cat kittens as well as when giving oral medication is required. All three cats loved these. These Applaws treats have a short simple clean ingredient list and I kind of like the smaller packaging. These are half the size of the other brands that make likable treats like this. I use this kind of treat mostly as a topper for a particular cat that gets picky and won't always finish her kibble though the other two have to get some too if she is getting a treat, so.... A little of a treat like this on top and she goes back at often finishing her bowl. With the other brands I would put the unused portion in the fridge for another time when it is needed, but these small ones I don't need to do that, so it is always fresh. These are also priced comparably to the other brands that make treats like this. I also like that my local big box pet food store now carries these so I don't have to pay eta rolled shipping costs. Very happy with these treats and will definitely be buying them again! These creamy little tubes of chicken in broth are beloved by my cats. When I'm low on wet food, squirting a tube over kibble satisfies them. Mostly, though, I use it to add digestive enzymes to a little old lady cat's food. I can do that directly in the regular food, but can't be sure she'll eat it all. This way, I put one tube's worth on a plate, mix in the enzymes and give it to her as a treat before I give out a meal to all six cats. (If my elderly cat misses her enzymes, bad things happen -- it's very important to see that she gets them and this is a great way to do so.)The food is top quality and is better for them than human baby food. (Previously, I used that to mix enzymes in the food for the digestively-challenged kitty.) This is quick and easy and I only open as much as I need. While it's expensive, it's worth it for giving the enzymes. The small tubes are a perfect size for this. I don't know if it would work with regular medicine since chicken is mild in flavor, but for my purposes, it's great.Having this around for a cat that doesn't feel well is also a great idea.Mochi, our Maine Coon does not like to lick off the packaging, and prefers it to be over some dry food or just on a plate.80 packs - 10 packages of 8 each. Each small packet is .25 oz of chicken puree. Since I give my cat just one packet per meal (lunch and dinner) then these equate to just $0.50 each - just $1 per day. While these feature a decent amount of plastic, they are great for just a quick topping and nothing will go in the fridge. Our cat likes the flavor and that is really what matters when it comes to cat food! There are 10 packages of 8 packets of .25 ounce purée boxed so that you can dispense from the box. 80 packets total - not just one package of 8 packets. The price per package is just under $4 (current price divided by 10 packages) This is the average price for 2 ounce packages of good quality purée treats/toppers. Where the Applaws differs is packaging: rather than the standard .5 ounce long tubes that are 4 to a package, these are half that size and half that long, but there are 8 to the package. I prefer this because it’s a great appetite tempting or treat size and I don’t need to try to store half a tube. These purée treats/toppers are made in Thailand. In my opinion Thailand is a superior source for pet foods because they have very stringent regulations regarding the quality of pet food ingredients and processing (the USDA even cautioned want-to-be US suppliers to Thailand that they needed to be aware of these restrictions in a September 2021 Report). My Senior kitty, Orion, who has been more “off his food” than on in the last 2 months (after the death of his littermate/brother), showed me exactly how much he loved this product: shortly after it arrived I squeezed a packet onto his current favorite premium mousse texture food (fresh from the package). He went over, licked off all of the Applaws with gusto and gave me a defiant “all done now” look and walked away. Lol.These types of puree treats are always a huge hit in the house with the finicky felines and they will jostle to get at it. When I saw the chicken ones, I thought I’d give them a try.Scent/Smell (that’s me): super mild and nothing overt. The chicken smell is there, but if you have issues with smells, this isn’t bad at all.Taste (that’s them): My oldest kitty (12 this year) is a bit on the finicky side, but he normally loves puree treats and he inhaled this one fairly fast. Next up was the youngest and she was a bit more dubious, but she did give it a lick before slamming her front paw down on it and then licking her paw. Guess what you want with that one. The oldest liked it enough that he came to me for more, so he got another round and at that point, the diva jumped down from her 7ft perch to see what was of interest. She got quite loud slurping and snorting as she ate it as quickly as she could.Overall: I love that it’s all natural ingredients with no artificial additives, which is always a bonus. I will wait to see if the youngest develops more of a healthy appreciation for the treat, but the other two loved it and were eager for more. Definitely a hit.
