Good album from Icon of Coil. Not all the songs are the best, but most are good. Classic and positively unique. Recommend for lovers of industrial and atmosphere.More awsomeHis previous album (This Is My Battlefield) was a great example of industrial techno that shatters the grounds you step in through the english/german lyrics and the exploration of government corruption. Combine it with some WAR elements and you are trembling through the battlefields in great fear. This next one (Your World Is Burning) was a big change from his first album, yes, but I look at in a sense of it being an aftermath of what happened after his first album or after this war, sorta say. You go through the feelings of mourning (Moerketid, Mother, & It's Not Too Late), through the disturbances of the aftermath (Crash N Burn, Monster, Among The New, Tip The Dancer, & When I Am You). Finally, you finish off the last few lying around (Machinegun Gogo, Paper Angels, & Aenimal) after Introduction OTD. This new album was quite a retire from his last album, but perhaps he'll return later with a full stock of ammunition to fire off another ground-shattering masterpiece. I hope this review makes sense in a way...Just a new beginning for Panzer AG after a bloody battle. I give 'Your World Is Burning' 4 stars for a fresh change.I'm new to this group... and I have to say that this CD impressed me. I found it in the dance section at Borders, which is an odd place to find it. Still, I suppose it fits the bill of "dance" if only slightly. It is electronic heavy... reminicent of industrial greats like Nine Inch Nails and some Marylon Manson. The overall sound of this album is goth-creepy... which sereves its purpose with helping me write my short "horror" stories. The beats are nothing to scoff at as they are quite engaging... "Aenimal" "Machinegun Gogo" "Paper Angels" but aside from the deliciously wicked "Monster" the lyrics all leave a little something to be desired. My ultimate reason for only giving four out of five stars is the fact that most of the songs feature repeated chorus's and verses... as if the whole song was written around half a songs worth of material. After going back and listening to the first album by Panzer AG, I've come to the conclusion that this is best album he's made. Why? Because it's completely different from the last album. "This is my Battlefield" felt more like his CombiChrist project, which I'm not a fan of. It just doesn't really make any leaps into new territory, as it's basically Anthony LaPleags [I'll never spell his name right] noise/aggro EBM project. The first Panzer AG sounded a bit too much like it, only coming at a different direction in most cases. However this album goes on a different direction entirely. Gone are the cries to god about what he wants from him, the gothy human servitude and sadness lyrics. But what we have is great all around catchy and well crafted songs. After listening to this album several times I STILL can't get "Machine Gun Go Go" outta my head. It's got a bit of rock guitar sound with his signiture drum kicks and bass. Now fans of the last album shouldn't worry, he still has his aggressive tracks such as "Crash N Burn" "Aenimal" and "Tip the Dancer" just to name a few. So don't let the sudden change in direction detour you from this album. The track list is shorter then the last album, but that's because it's not choked full with filler tracks that bogged down the replay value of "This is my Battlefield". I have to say this is the best project from Anthony. Definately pick this album up! Like I said..best album of the year so far for industrial....at least until the new Front Line Assembly comes out later this year. So we'll see where this album lands :)When I first heard that the new Panzer AG album was going to be largely different than the last album, I was a tad bit sad and a bit nervous that this new album would not deliver. After a few hearings, I've come to the conclusion that Andy LePlagua can make Industrial rock music as opposed to his regular Power Noise/EBM/Elektro works. The other reviewers are right when saying that this AG style is different than Andy's last AG album. "Your world is burning" has a Nine Inch Nails meets Marilyn Manson feel to it. There are a few songs however that do stay a tad true to the old AG style, Paper Angels being one of them.If Icon of Coil remains Andy's FutureSyth band, and CombiChrist remains as his hard-hitting Elekro project, Then Panzer AG should definitely remain as his Industrial Rock project. However, if this is the case, then his first album will look like a Panzer AG black sheep 10 years down the road.
