Used several of these brand products before so when I decided I wanted to relocate my workstation outside of my bedroom to help keep my room cooler I went with this.For the most part this is plug and play. However on one of my Dell 2k monitors it could not identify the resolution correctly so I would choose between 1080p or a less common resolution close to 2k but limited the frame rate to 30hz.Using it with a different Dell 4K monitor the extender worked flawlessly.These HDMI extenders are life savers in reducing the amount of desk clutter I have with all the cables that need to operate simultaneously. By using this extender, my HDMI signals are transmitted seamlessly over an ethernet connection and I have not experienced any lag or misconnection so far. This device is small and compact and is perfect for hiding in storage or under a desk. Because it is lightweight, I have been able to tape it to the underside of my desk and flow cords along the desktop so they aren’t as visible. Other HDMI extenders are rather bulky and heavy and don’t allow themselves to be this discrete. Additionally, this is one of the first HDMI extenders to transmit signals over ethernet in which I’ve not had a dropped signal or lag time. I use this primarily for gaming on my computer monitor which is mounted on my wall; because I like a cordless look, this extender came in handy. The signal is extremely strong and the video quality is amazing. The movement and animation have integrity and the picture quality is also bright and vibrant.The only thing I don’t love about this HDMI extender is that it comes with confusing directions. This is one of those nifty devices that everyone should have in their home office, but it is not intuitive to set up. Not only do you need to configure the cords in a specific way, but you also need to operate them and download files on your computer. The directions are limited in that they don’t have chronological steps nor do they have pictures. This isn’t for amateurs.As far as functionality goes, this is an amazing HDMI extender. However, if you need help setting it up, you’ll have to look to online forums or videos.I see Orei, I click to get it as they have been consistently providing the quality products especially for KVM switch/splitter/extender etc. I have been using multiple products from this brand for almost a year now.The reason I like this brand is the cost performance. They might not be the cheapest on Amazon, but also not the most expensive one either. The overall quality they offer including performance, material quality, and durability is quite outstanding for the price.It's hard to find the middle ground for price and overall quality sometimes, but I think this brand delivers just that!It's not hard to set up if you know what you are doing (the product itself is plug and play), and it works well with CAT6 (the cable I used) without any delay.I usually wait for about at least 3 months to write a review on electronics but for this brand, I know I can rely on durability. Of course, if this one fails me rather unexpectedly, I will definitely update my review accordingly.I have several of these and love them. Easy to set up and use. The price is good for what you get. I would buy again. 5 STARSI used the Orei 4K KVM HDMI Extender to extend my cable TV signal from a storage room in my basement to the rec room, which is on the same level but is approximately 30 feet away. The CAT5e cable was installed as my home was being built, and thus is inside the walls. I had been using another HDMI extender from another brand to push video and audio to my 80-inch TV, but it stopped working, so when I came across this unit, I was impressed by its features and the positive reviews posted by trusted Vine Voices; so I had to get it.The Orei extender is plug & play, and it connected to my existing setup seamlessly. My old unit required a power source for each module, but this 4K extender only requires one power source, and it gives you the flexibility to connect it to either the sender or receiver module. I'm extremely pleased with the performance of this extender, and I will get another one to extend the cable TV signal to my finished loft.The signal sending is high-speed, the device that I can remotely control my computer with my mouse and keyboard is of good quality. I didn't experience any lag in the signal.The installation was fast and easy. The distance from our main media room to the sanctuary is about 300FT. We ruined a cat6 cable and did the connections to the other end.Great HDMI extender. We got to sets for our church TVs. There are no issues with latency or signal loss.
